How to decorate a room correctly and beautifully
We talked with Garda Decor decorators about trends in design, decoration and how not to clutter the interior, but only decorate it with decorative items.
It must be said that improper decoration is a common mistake in interior design. People either refuse decorative items altogether, as if they don’t need them, or buy so many of them that the room takes on a chaotic appearance. Few find a middle ground in this matter.

So, we found out what mistakes people make when decorating and put together a checklist so you can avoid them, let's go!
Steal like an artist
There's nothing wrong with borrowing and tinkering with ideas. For creative people, this process is called searching for references or research - this is a specially allocated time to search for ideas similar to the one they want to bring to life.
Make a list of colors and styles that you want to use in the interior and look for what is similar in already completed design projects.
If nothing comes to mind, borrow color combinations and ideas from nature. For example, light pastel shades will harmonize with the motifs of northern animals, rich and brightwith animal prints of Africa, and greenery with wood.

Decorate with light
Only one overhead light source in a room is one of the common mistakes in designing the room as a whole. But, in addition to functionality, lamps can also be decorative; this should not be forgotten either. Floor lamps, sconces and table lamps of fancy shapes can do two things at once: illuminate and decorate. And multi-level, properly selected lighting will generally make the room voluminous and cozy.
Don't forget about textiles
Single-color furniture sets purchased as a set have long gone out of fashion. Now designers are trying to diversify the interior by offering a sofa of one color and armchairs of another. In this case, the decor can be pillows scattered around the sofa, harmonizing in color with the armchairs or repeating the color and pattern of some decorative items, for example, vases or flowerpots.
Don't use too many colors
Two or three colors in the interior may be quite enough if the fourth and fifth are accent colors. That is, in percentage terms, the main to additional ratios are approximately 85/15%.
It is a mistake to think that multicolor will make the interior more original or interesting. So, a large number of flowers will most likely make it look tacky and make it very heavy. Using exactly the same principle, you should choose decor by color: many different elements of different colors will not complete the composition, but will create a feeling of disorder and chaos in the room.

Black is always in fashion
Contrary to the established opinion that black is a gloomy color, designers recommend using it as an accent color, as a shading color, adding depth and texture to the interior. Black in the interior can be frames for posters, figurines or, for example, flower pots.
Use mirrors
A mirror in a modern interior is not only and not so much for looking at. Nowadays mirror panels and compositions are used to visually expand space, increase the volume of the room and play rays of light.
A mirror as a decorative element can be an excellent solution if you hang it against sunlight. This way you will highlight the dark areas of the room, and this, in turn, will visually increase the volume and space.

Don't forget about yourself
And the most important decorating rule that must be followed is to be individual and not to forget that the house, to some extent, is a reflection of your character and habits. When creating and filling the interior, do not forget that fashion is cyclical and fickle, so proceed from what you specifically like. And we, Garda Decor, will be there to fill your homes with comfort as you wish!
